St George’s has just been awarded our first Green Flag!
Congratulations to Ms Crowley and the committee, and the whole school who worked so hard at recycling this year!
Intercultural Day
The Yellow Flag Committee are planning an Intercultural Day on May 25th 2012.
The children will be asked to wear national dress – this could include clothes worn in your/their country, national sports jerseys or other special clothes.
We will also be serving foods from different countries. If you would like to prepare some food for us for the day we would really appreciate it! Please contact the school about this.
Parents and community representatives will be invited to help us celebrate.
We are letting you know early so you can make any necessary preparations. More details will be available closer to the time.
Our school flags
Did you know that there are 38 countries represented in our school? In the link below, you can download a PDF with each country listed with their flag.
Happy Easter!
Cellists at St George’s!
Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from a string quartet. Third and fourth classes had a mini workshop with the quartet and learned all about cellos, stringed instruments, listening, composing, conducting and playing. They also got a chance to ask questions at the end – someone asked if he could make a cello bow from his sister’s hair, so we hope that no one will try that at home!
